I think I can say that my youtube account has brought a good bit of traffic to my forum. I opened my account in april of 2007. In the past 3 years I have posted a little over 350 videos.

Here is an example video - its the longest video I have ever posted on youtube.

I'am sorry, but I do not understand your statement? What do you mean by "autoplay"?

And why would you have to be a partner to do anything?

I'm not sure either, the video instantly plays for me when I click on the link whether I'm logged onto youtube or not.

Anyhow, I haven't really had time to make a lot of videos like Kevin but the ones I have done are actually attracting new members.

Sounds like a good idea to bring traffic. Will give it a try.

We have our own youtube channel for our forum, however we haven't done much with it yet. Only 3 video's up at this very moment. We should probably do more with it, but it also takes time to make those video's and are currently a little understaffed on the forums itself.

YouTube is a good source of traffic. Haven't had experience advertising on it, but it drives traffic when you have video content on the site. All I did was place a link in the first line of the description, had a 2 second intro in the video itself and it produced a slow but steady stream of traffic.

In fact, I had traffic months and months after the videos had been deleted (YouTube seized my old account so Microsoft could use it). YouTube videos get reposted and indexed all over the internet. So your one YouTube video might reappear at 20+ other video sites and hundreds more blogs and whatnot.

I think Microsoft assumed it belonged to them. At the time, it was for an Xbox themed forum. Even the official Xbox YouTube channel was subscribed to it (and they only had 3 subscriptions).

Couldn't login one day, tried resetting passwords. Figured it was hijacked until I saw everything was gone. Okay maybe some copyright fiasco with YouTube or something. Turned out that the account had been turned into a redirect for Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division.

if you have a lot of videos, consider getting into the google adsense-youtube program so you can earn some coin AND get traffic for your forum.

I realize some of you already do this.

Sure. Long time ago, I posted a movie trailer that got over 180,000 views. Brought our site lots of traffic.

I give my users contests where they will have to make an original video about the forums and post it on YouTube, works great!
