    I agree with pretty much everything If you don't moderate your community, then don't go complaining online about how 'evil' everyone is and how comments/forums/social networks/whatever are such awful places. Stopping the idiots, trolls and bullies is as simple as just getting some staff in (free, paid or otherwise) to moderate the site and letting members additionally report rule breaking content.

    If sites like Youtube or your average newspaper wanted to make their comments sections nice places, they could, just stop treating it like an anything goes street brawl and kick out the morons dragging down the quality of the discussion.

    P.S. As for this point in the original article:

    The gaming media/journalists do. Which is probably why it's so utterly terrible even by media/journalism standards, because even the biggest magazines and websites basically just publish whatever the hell they find on Twitter/Facebook/Youtube/internet forums/their email inbox without even trying to verify it in the slightest.

    Guy posted fake picture on forum, half the media took it as evidence. I then found it was fake, posted about it on the above link and got to watch half the journalists desperately make last minute corrections.
