The question is if she would hit you with her purse? :P

Well Boss, this is how I see it: would you rather have her beat you repeatedly with her purse, or would you rather spend your nights blowing up a doll that does not love you back?

I've had the delight of my wife hitting me upside the head with a ladle thinking I was some thief a few years ago. Oh man did it hurt. lol

Getting back to the topic, with HostGator they do answer queries reasonably quickly, but they'll dump your site immediately if it uses up server resources instead of helping you figure out what the problem is.

That doesn't sound at all fun. Have you had this happen to you?

Yes, twice: once with a Movable Type installation and once with WSN Links. :(

    I'm with them.

When programs go 'wild' they do act quickly which allows the other sites on the server to continue to run smoothly. At least that is the intent.

My vB site uses almost no resources based on their cPanel info although that will be changing and expect to outgrow their max connections soon.

Back to the topic of support. They have always answered there phone in less than 10 minutes except during the big hurricane last fall, and even then I sent an email asking the account be upgraded to the next larger size and it was upgraded in 10 minutes.

    I use multiple hosts:
    HawkHost - Great support
    WiredTree - Amazing Support
    WaveWeb - Terrific Support

I also have my hosting company: Logic Depths and we provide true 24/7 support. We have staff within the US and UK to provide round the clock support.

I use WiredTree and HostGator. WiredTree is superb - 24/7 support and I don't think it has never taken more than 15 minutes for a response, even at 4 AM Eastern (yes; myself, Chris, and Nick are all referring to our experiences with AA on WiredTree). HostGator is good too but I don't even remember the last time I asked for support (via a ticket).

I also use Byethost - great customer service; HostGator is also a host of mine that's WONDERFUL.
