new post/post reply button order

A suggestion I would make, would be to swtich the order of the new post, and post reply buttons on the boards -- i figure more people are prone to be posting a reply than starting a whole new thread, and its kind of instinctive to want to press the first button you see from left to right. Pretty petty suggestion, eh? I don't know, I think maybe the old soup version had them in the opposite order, because i've already pressed the wrong button 4 times already.

Not sure if they have changed or not, but I still think it is a good idea .

Personally, I guess I've gotten used to it being on the right.
I can see your point though. I just wonder if it gets switched, that a lot of others will have the same problem that you did.

I know if it's switched I'll get all screwed up when I go to post something .

but I think Dan's right...haven't they always been in that order?

i just reaffirmed my suspicion that i would go nuts if they moved - i blindly clicked the one on the right to reply to this topic.

of course, i'm a reasonably bright guy, and i'd figure it out if they moved. it does seem more intuitive for it to be on the left. now that i mention it to myself via the voices in my head, the new topic button doesn't really need to be there - i think i've used it twice.

I tried this out for myself, and found that my tendency is to click the left button at the top of the page, and the right button at the bottom of the page. Go figure.

 

i also realized that it used to say something like "new thread", and now it says "new post", which could easily be confused

so if you are actually *reading* the buttons, you might get confused. me, i never read. so i don't get confused. that's a life lesson, folks. .

I think it's fine where it is, but if it changes then I'll think it's fine...cuz I'm REALLY quick...must be the trumpet fingering that got me this way. I can see and click REALLY fast, and move real quick, so whatever. If I go to hit the wrong button, I mean I can switch easy...
So either way is fine with me

not so in my mind. what i'm doing now I call creating a post, and a "new post" button seems like the logical one to click for that function. "New topic" was much clearer. .

but again, the button is rarely used.
