You know, I keep meaning to work on finding link partners, but I want to install some kind of mod to set up a page just for them... I don't really want them cluttering up the front page. Or should I? What's the best way to do this, in your opinion?

I think the footer is usually the best place to place them as theyre sitewide and people would be more than happy to exchange since theyre getting a link on each page of the site. We used to have ours on a seperate page but in our experience not so many want a link on a seperate page that the user needs to voluntarily click.

Yep, my link exchanges are all in the footer on my forum. I only have a few though, so if you had a lot, I don't know how it would work out.

alot of sites won't exchange links with you if they're not on the main page.
