I do hope those horrid nasty people aren't watching this thread, otherwise they'll know exactly when to target your sites and do maximum damage

well imagine how much work you could lose if you only backed up every 7 days, and the nasty person came on and attacked you on day 6 or 7, that's a weeks worth of work lost!

I also back up my database every few days or so. Files much less, only when I make changes to them. Thinking of just setting up automated backups to an email account or something though, once every 24 hours.

I prefer to backup both, you might loose some important files, such as member avatars and post files.

That's true too, like I said before any edits I would back up. Avatars can be annoying to have to re-upload but unless I'd set up automatic backups seems a bit of a hassle to worry over them too much.

I have mine backed up nightly and remotely. R1soft is pretty awesome with backups and if I didn't have that, I'd be using Rsync.

R1 soft is pretty confusing to me, I just use the Regular Backup System cPanel has.

R1Soft is expensive, confusing and not to mention a resource hog!
