Depends, i've set automated backup for specific folders(with undergoing projects/draft campaigns/ideas) every 4-6 hours.
otherwise for non special files i do weekly backups and if i am bored monethly.
P.S i also backup very often my Fotball manager saved games(Can[t live without that game :-$)

I don't do any automatic file backups yet, but all of the databases are automatically backed up to my email account and on my hosting account (in a non-accessible folder).

We make backups daily. With all the hacking attempts that were going on over the summer, we almost have no choice but to do daily backups. Always better to be safe than sorry, I say.

How often is sometimes? If it's only once a week, that may or may not be enough. Keep in mind that a lot of forums get hacked during the summer months, and it all seems to be because school is out and these kids seem to have nothing better to do than to ruin other peoples' hard work.

I currently don't have a forum but a had one on free host...I would backup my forum every 24 hours becouse it's forum and always something is "going on" so,if something happens with the server, you have to have full backup or you will be lose your files :(

I have two websites (one is my personal blog and the second one is about the Beer Pong game in Serbia...) and I backup them after I do something impotant on them becouse there are no comments and posts in every second (they are both on WordPress),so I don't need to backup them every 24 hours :)

If you are talking about admin-talk.com ,I think you should backup it every 24 hours or every 48 hours and backup it on every important update.

But this could be monthly backups which would be useless if you had a forum, as forums are dynamic and change daily.

Yes very true, in 1 month a forum changes alot, I wouldnt rely on monthly backups. Perhaps you are talking about backups that your host takes of the whole server just in case anything happens? Those wouldnt be accessible to you, unless you make your own.
