How did you choose your username?

Just curious on how many of you came up with your username. Allot of times there is a story behind how some have chosen a username. I actually chose mine because i used to be an avid hot wheels toy car collector. Before i quit collecting the little toy car's, i was able to put well over 10,000 of them into a collection. Not quite a museum, but one heck of a collection to hand down to my grand kids.

I chose mine because webshadow was already taken. I'm just a mist on the web. I've used it so long I don't think about it anymore. Why it just will turn 11 yrs old next month.

 

11 years with the same username, that is awesome. Mine went through a few evolutions, such as wyominghotwheels, whw, etc. I finally settled on hotwheels. Wyominghotwheels was just to long for people to spell when we were talking in the irc rooms.

 

My husband is a Boatswain's Mate in the Coast Guard. They all get called "boats" during their career, therefore, "boatswife".

My name is Ray and I like firearms...including my 50cal rifle.

 

Same username as I used since ages ago, including my first email account. How I chose it for that... I don't know.

 

i didn't actually choose mine...one of my MCSE instructors in the early day's created a yahoo email account for me using "techit" and its stuck ever since or variations of it close to 12 yrs now i guess the logic behind it was my penchant (which unfortunately still exists, much to the displeasure of my wife for the mess i create in my study ) for assembling or dissembling as the case might be electronic gadgets and PC's iam talking the XT AT era

 

my favourite smiley on a forum i am on is the dancing banana smiley

and now i am thinking of how TheDancingBanana would be a good username for the next forum i join........i am so indecisive with usernames, have a different one on every forum

 

Mine was Sweeks and also Partyon here which were just usernames I made up and used on forums since, no real reason behind them. Now it is Michael which is my name.

 

It's what I get called (most of the time) when I go to work. I'm one of three bosses.

 

You mean work is the only place you get called Boss?

I was in charge of the 'girls' when we first opened the site, so it was my nickname
