Do you have an FTP client? If you don't, you can find several free FTP programs available for download. Set one up, give it the details of your HostGator account, connect and upload the files. For a vB forum you'll also have to create a database and run the install program.

How do you have several forums without knowing how to set them up? Did someone else set them up for you and withdrew their help?

They're assuming you have access to the original site. Do you have access? Or can your friend make the backups and send them to you?

i clicked add on domain under my host gator.. i now added it.. now he said this:

log into the vb members area..

there is already files on the server. the vb info has all of the vb files.

once hosting is up click download (in the vb area) that will give you the original files and then you have to overwrite everything.

first download the files where it says download.

he gave me ftp username and pw he used for his godaddy hosting...

Ok Florida, I think we need to take a step back here and make sure you know the basics of having your own web site, because installing vB and transferring over an existing database is kind of advanced. We're having problems helping you because you don't know the terms for what you need to do. Let me see if I can find some tutorials for you, ok?

I had forgotten about this! FMB reminded me there was a video showing you how to do a vB installation. Maybe this would help.
    Install vBulletin
    (Hope that link is ok.)

Yes, first you should install it on your server, then import the database which will contain the members and the posts. But cross that bridge when you get to it.

I still don't understand how you own 4 sites already and don't know basic things like backing up a database or how to upload files?

I am at a complete loss of words right now...

Ok, did you fill out the form, Florida? If you have trouble filling out the database information, you'll have to get the seller to help you because we wouldn't know that information.

No, you didn't. ChiCubs54 did. You're just a cash thief who's dues will be caught up with very soon.
