Well, bow season just started here in Texas and its one month until rifle season. This weekend I went out to the woods and did a little scouting.

Besides almost stepping on a cotton mouth, I found some scraps and rubs.

Have never been hunting. However my father was a Marine Marksmen/Sniper so he taught my brothers and I how to take down an intruder in our homes with deadly accuracy. He wasn't even a career marine but did do two tours in Vietnam. "One shot, One Kill" was a frequently heard mantra during firearms training while I was growing up.

This is my first season hunting. So far all I've done is some dove hunting but not sure if I'll do any deer hunting. I don't have a lease and we don't allow hunting on the ranch. So I've going out with my friend when ever he has the room. If a spot opens up for deer I'll go for it...Bow or rifle.

Well you could do it while their roosting on some high wires but the electricity company probably wouldn't like it :p

Now I plan on using a 50 if and when I go deer hunting...50 Beowulf:thumbup:

I went hunting a few times last week and this week. no photos of birds though. Major flooding going on here, pretty windy too. Ugly rain.
