Are you or someone you know considering joining the American military?

Although the military is not for everyone, it's a good direction to go in for lots of people.

However, is it right for you?

My advice is that if you are considering joining the military, asking key questions to a recruiter about what it's like to be in the military and what opportunities there are in the military can be a mistake in the sense that, in general, recruiters will only tell you what they want you to hear. They're trying to get you to join the military, after all.

So what I'd suggest is that if you want some advice, talk to someone you think you can trust who is either currently in the military who is not a recruiter, or someone who used to be in the military. They'll give you honest answers, as they're not trying to get you to join like a recruiter would be.
