Is your website built off your forum or vise versa? Do you have members on your forum because you have great content and traffic on your website (the original site you made), and later added a forum, or do you only have a website because you wanted something more to offer to your forum community?

Because this is a forum owner forum, I'm assuming a lot of AA'ers will say they built their website off their forum. Maybe if you have another forum that turned out to be the other way around you can talk about that.

Speaking for AA, I voted for the last option myself. While I have more of a focus on the forum at the momement, AA is designed to be (and to eventually become) MUCH more than just a regular forum.

I only have a forum, nothing else. I spose i should look at expanding a bit.

I voted for the third option, though it's not entirely true. The forum was launched before the website. However, the RCTgo of today is quite different than the forum I launched 4 years ago. Today, I consider it more of one entity, as the website depends so heavily on the forums, and vice versa. The forums user system is directly integrated into the website and the downloads center. It's a package deal, really, hence our slogan: "Share. Discuss. Explore."

I created a blog more than a year after creating my forum, and those are the only two parts of the website there is. The blog isn't a *huge* attraction, but it's where we post a lot of articles and such. We try to use it as a way to get the community more involved by having polls, reader response mail-ins, etc.

Setsou Design is both a website and a forum. We launched them at the same time, if not the blog/site before the forum.

Bird is the Word is a complete forum; though we plan to upgrade so it will be much more than a forum.

My main focus is the forum, and a website is secondary.

As much as I love creating and/or managing websites (i.e. a blog), I'd much rather focus on the discussion forum. :)

Generally depends on the site and which part is focused on. I prefer forums and interactive sites, so that's what I spend the most time browsing and using.

I prefer to a website because it has a lot of information about many thing and we can also find the forum of related topics for the discussion.

I've found my blog to be easier to figure out than my new forum.
