Addition Notes to AA Members Reviewing the website:
The above is the write up I normally use when given permission by site administrators to advertise my sports website, any feedback you can give me on it would be appreciated.

The link supplied above is a link to the actual php encoded website, to get to the forums the link is here.

I understand the board looks empty but to my defence since we officially opened we were hacked after two months, and once we fought our way back to being online we were attacked by the gumblar.cn virus and have only now rebuilt from it.

The last thing for me to work on is to get some avatars, my style stuffs up with anything over 70x70 so I am working on creating some now so the Last Post stuff won't look as plain.

I would like to thank all in advance for looking over my website!

Not meaning to Bump! But was wondering if there was a way to change the Prefix I meant to have it reviewed but was concentrating on the write up for it!

    Can an admin/mod anyone help?

First Impression: Sporty~ Colors are cute. Since you see the logo you know that the site it's about sports.

    Forum Content
Quantity of Forums: Quite a bit to be honest, the order seems a little unorganized. I think that the 'Sport Force Interactive' should be the first category up. One forum for each sport, I guess is okay. Not all the sports are the same.

Content: I saw some posts that talked about the sports itself and were very useful, full of information. Other than that, some discussions are missing some insight. The forum isn't that populated, but from what I see it's going well. Great idea for the referral contest, VERY appealing. You have some advertisements, but they don't bother as much.

    Forum Look

Favicon: As I say, it's not needed but it would be nice.

On, Off, Link Icons: The icons look nice, would be better if they had a transparent background.

Forum Design: The design looks nice, maybe a little too big. I like how the logo also compliments the theme of the forum, I also like how you have the 'Join Now!' graphic besides it, maybe convert it into a linked image to the registration process?. It makes it known quickly that the forum is related to sports. I like how you have the picture of the last poster on each forum. It's creative and to be honest, I kind of never seen it before. One thing I noticed that I kind of didn't like was how big of a space the Threads and Post area had on the index of the forum, it not appealing. I like that you have custom 'New Thread' and 'Post Reply' buttons. Also, some of the post icons have white matte, it kind of looks ugly. I really like the mesh of green and blue.

Overall Opinion: There wasn't much to see and from what I did see, you're going fairly well. The information given to the users is useful, maybe update the FAQ so new members can help themselves and such. The referral contest was a great idea, I think it should succeed. As I said, the forum graphics MAY be too big, but they look fine, maybe ask the person who did the 'On, Off and Link' icons to make them have a transparent background and it should look perfect.

I hope this helped, good luck!

I mostly like it, but I personally don't think the font you used for the subtitle (your home of everything sport) was the best choice. Nothing against it, I just think cursive, almost calligraphic fonts say "sports". How about something that leans to the right with a few horizontal lines at the beginning of the phrase to connote speed and movement?

Hmm? Sports are not always elegant and such, I don't think, personally, that it would have looked good with a cursive font.

Oops! That should have read "I just DON'T think cursive, almost calligraphic fonts say "sports"."

First of all Let me just say thank you for the review, it gives me a heads up and what to fix up etc.

I don't have Sports Force Interactive as the first category of forums as to me the main focus is sports and not about me or my site, but I do see your point and will fix it up right now - well after I send this message otherwise I will get confused -

As for the Forums regarding the sport, I have made the most popular sports in Australia have their own forum, while all other sports fall under the Other Sports area - this is due to the fact that more people should be posting in the more popular sports.

The Forums did have over 1000 members and heading towards 10 000 posts just two months ago, and then we were hacked and they deleted absolutly everything and then were hit by the Gumblar.cn virus, and so we have just/still in the rebuilding stage hence the lack of members and posts but hopefully my VERY appealing Referral Competition will get people coming back (we were down for just over a month due to the hacking and the virus.)

The advertisements I try to keep to a minimum, however the sponsors of the website who mean I can run the site for free and have prizes to give away deserve to be advertised somewhere and didn't think the two placements were too invasive on peoples viewing experience.

I am currently looking at getting a FAVICON as it would be better, and am also working on getting images to replace the default vB ones when you go to add a link or upload an image, or database errors.

I would like to get the on/off topic things on a transparent background but didn't want to bother the person who created them as they have done me a huge favour in doing them for me.

In regards to the Post Icons I got them from vbImageWorks so will head back there to try and get some that match haha.

All and all I thank you for taking the time to look at it and thank you for the review it has opened my eyes to what can be improved and now I will head into improving it!

Once again thank you so much to all who have made comments.

Yes I read about the hacking, I understood that, sorry about it happening to you. I hope you get it all up! Good luck again.

Yeah, I just thought I would try to explain why it looks empty - like not much happening.

But am hopeful the Referral Competition, along with the fact we are about to be featured in an editorial for a magazine that gets distributed to 300 000 people bi-monthly and so hopefully that will also generate more people coming to our website :)

Thanks for your feedback, I will try to fix up the things you stated and make it look better hopefully...

We have just spent the last few days on our theme and would appreciate any feedback anyone had - spent ages of trial and error piecing it together.

Okay rather than starting a new thread (despite this one being two years old) thought I would re-activate/bump this one to let you all know we have upgraded to a WordPress front page and xenForo forums.

Would love to hear thoughts/ideas on its current status.
