HI folks, glad to be here to learn and hopefully ad a little value myself.

I''m an experienced niche content marketer which gets me into site building, SEO, writing plenty of interesting original content and makes me a little dough at the end of each day providing I'm adding value and keeping the search engine monkey's happy.

    Best Wishes,

I am involved with 8 golf club niches - blade irons, forged irons, drivers, putters, game improvement irons, fairway woods, hybrids and wedges. Then have have sites for classic American cars (post WWII into the very early '70s), classic muscle cars, classic motorcycles (Harley-Davidson & Indian so far), antiques & collectibles and fly fishing.

I also have a political blog that I started when "blog" was a relatively new term or very early in the birth of the browser. A good way to blow off some steam.

Now I have two sites in the unpublished hopper - one on Trading Cards, the other on earning more money online.

I swore off new sites after 21 was reduced to 14 but my internal brainstorming continues to cause me problems. :(

I see SEO and fresh content going hand in hand - Content is King and my search traffic comes mainly from long-tail searches tied to my title tags and moderate use of same within the content.

But - excellent site structure is very important - I use Wordpress but was formerly a Macromedia Dreamweaver user. My sites are all =/> than PR 4, my political blog is a PR 7. This came over time so affiliate marketers making tons of thin sites either don't last long or become very discourage. I stick to my passions so the fresh content is pretty much in my head.

I have never sought out backlinks but I've collected hundreds per site over time. That brings me back to the original content piece of the puzzle. My sites are monetized but I use a subtle approach so the content stands out (that's why the visitor show up) and well-placed links or ads that go well with whatever theme I have employed.

As soon as Google or other search engines find out about schemes to improve rankings the sites get punished because original content is really the concept to enhance the search experience.

I agree that content is king. This is the motto I've been following for years. Develop good quality content and the organic results will build themselves especially if you're building links and attracting them. I also believe the backbone of good seo comes down to the content. Glad to see you interacting here! :)

Thanks for the explanation, it seems like you've been looking after your sites very well to get their PR's between 4 - 7!

I used to do a lot of SEO on my sites, but now it seems it does nothing at all in regards to Traffic and Search Results, so I've now banned myself from doing any SEO apart from On Page, the rest of my time is now spent on content and I'm getting a lot more interest from the search engines and user engagement this way.
