Ilia is attempting to save vBSEO from a horrible death, she wants to regain the entire company and weigh what needs to be done to bring vBSEO back to life. I have already said I would be happy to jump on staff and help bring vBSEO back to life. So all I can do is support her in her efforts and hopefully she accomplishes what she set out to do.

I just grabbed it off a random website. I just figured if we're sitting here watching this Telenovela anyway, may as well have some popcorn with it.

I do not understand why you people are attacking @ILIA-VBSEO . She cares about her company and also seems to care about the customers. What more do you people want? I like Juan, do not get me wrong. He has this way about him that he can make you like him and he is a nice guy or has always been in any conversation I have had with him.

But, he seems to want an end to the company as it has been said by multiple people that he is attempting to sell it. And it is sad to see that this has become a family disputer for their family, but that is what happens when money is involved. I do not think Ilia is asking people to take sides, seems more like she is asking for your faith. And yeah that is very difficult to ask for faith, but if you believe in the product, give her a chance. If not give up. But, either way there is no need to go all off the deep end with the craziness. Just my opinion..

By the way, I made a shit on of money over the years because of VBSEO. So, regardless of what happens, I would just like to say Thank You to Crawlability

When I look at this thread, it reminds me of this:

    awww.tvfanatic.com_files_as_the_world_turns_pic.jpg

Back being serious, I would highly suggest any of this making it to vBSEO.com if you manage to gain control of the company, because people really don't need to know about the drama between you and your brother.

    Actions speak louder than words.

hi @ILIA-VBSEO, really have been long months without any news of what could have happened with vBSEO, vBSEO forum have deleted the topic that leads to see the video and the situation of vBSEO, sure it was Juan you do not want people to know the truth of all, I am very sorry the situation of vBSEO, I see that you could be the solution to this.

Now my question as I say, that is a vBSEO future holds? and it will continue developing or will die? As restored delayed at all? shipwrecked many customers today.

vBulletin-Germany.com was also a "piggyback company" and Internet Brands dumped us directly (thankfully!). What they are doing to all the other 3rd party developers and designers is just crazy. The industry "vBulletin" is now practically dead. So, there is nothing else to do other than start off new! A not so small number of customers are also leaving vBulletin, because of the past and especially now because of vB5. Sooo......

....it is about starting over. Your brother has ran the old vBSEO business into the ground (with more than likely the help of IB's antics). You want to pick up the pieces and make amends to the vBSEO customers, which is commendable, but futile. Why do you feel such a responsibility to what has happened to the vBSEO customers in the past, which you had no control over? And couldn't you make amends to and for them, by actually doing something different, something new and letting them in on it in a special way?

Being a leader for them doesn't always mean making amends, but doing what is right for them for their future, You need to think more than just a few months into the future. You need to think a few years into the future. vBSEO IS dead for several reasons. Leave it alone. Start off fresh and win back the vBSEO customers with your new stuff.

You've been away from vBSEO for 4 years while this has happened, so no blame falls on you today for the state vBSEO is in now as a co-partner. You would have been better remaining out things, let your brother close it down and take all the flak for it himself. I do agree with you making people aware NOT to part with money buying vBSEO because you know off his plans for closing it, but you should leave it at that really. Don't get why you're trying to push your brother out and gain control over what? A "dead company", it makes no sense?

Only makes it look as though - you and Joe are now panicking because you've got wind vBSEO is getting closed, and if your brother does that then your chances of making a financial gain out the company are gone. You was willing to sell vBSEO in 2009 reading another post made here, you agreed to that after your brother said the company was failing but the deal fell through after he refused to share company information with buyer. Based on that... I don't get this sudden concern you have now for the vBSEO "customer base", also doesn't make sense to start getting involved as a co-owner now (at a time when people might start demanding refunds). If anything, you should be wanting to stay "well clear" of vBSEO at this point to keep out of any legal issues that could arise from customers.

You mention making vBSEO "open source, make it work with other forum products, close it down gracefully, or sell on to another interested party". You won't commit yourself to one thing or another, you don't appear to have any specific plan in place which you should have. Or maybe you do... but are avoiding telling what that plan is right now and using this vagueness to drum up some customer support first to help take control over things?

Sorry if that sounds sceptical, but after reading tweets Joe's made over years in twitter about this, making it sound like a cat fight between brother and sister "over money". It makes it sound like you want control to try and salvage what money you still can out the company, sell it on maybe. Which there's nothing wrong in doing as a co-owner, good luck on that!

One of her previous posts gives me the impression there will not be a starting over. She's not interested in making IPB or xF versions if she gets control again or restarts. It just seems like a natural thing to do.

What sounds natural, a "re"takeover or to start off with something new? With the state vBulletin is in, I can't imagine you meant the former.

I've never really understood the benefits of vBSEO, my sites rank just fine so I've never had a use for it. However I realise that a lot of forums owners do use it so I have a question which will probably make me sound like a total amateur but...

If vBSEO is dead and vBulletin issue an update that breaks compatibility with the product what does that mean in real terms for those forums users that have to remove vBSEO? Won't this have some catastrophic effect on their links and rankings?

Seriously Scott, stop trying to drag Internet Brands into every thread.
VBSEO has nothing to do with them, and has clearly managed to get itself into a right mess on its own.

Allthough we use vbseo on Cable Forum, I havent had a need to visit the site for a very long time, so if it shut down it wouldnt really be missed by me. I think while we remain on vb3 then we'll probably leave it running, as its working ok, and not doing any harm.

Im a bit more concerned that this person, who was apparently fired from the company in 2009, has access to an old mail list and is using it for their own agenda.

In a way yes and I guess this is one of the events that Ilia is trying to prevent. We have used vBSEO since vB3 so we are somewhat stuck with it even though we moved up to vB4. A proper shutdown, if it goes down to it, is what she wants to achieve to make it less painful for the users of the product to transition to a post vBSEO era. Again, for small sites this probably wouldn't matter much.

Trying to be clever with symantics ? I read the thread thanks.

She was removed, fired, kicked out , forced out, whatever you want to call it - it makes no difference to my point (the one you quoted).
