I posted this few weeks ago over TAZ, but I thought I might as well post this here too:

So few weeks ago I was getting ad bombed, which google automatically adjusted and fixed those within hours. Now, every time I was ad bombed, I contacted google via their report invalid clicks abuse form, I documented the IP's and listed all the info they needed and never really received a reply back.

I went as far as disabling all ads on my website for the last few weeks.

Last week I noticed a user joined my website but was automatically black listed because of his email, his nicknames were: Ice I am ready..., and I ad spammed your site.
So obviously this guy is a person that is pissed and butt hurt about something...

Now, I currently use XenForo, is there a way for me to prevent a user from clicking an ad more than 2 times a day?

Anything else you guys would suggest to stop this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think there is any way to prevent click bombs. Google does a pretty good job of filtering them and unless you share they same IP as the "bomber", you should be pretty safe. As an added precaution you can ban the IP through a firewall or simply don't show ads for that particular IP.

Going to just wait it out for a while and then re-enable things.

Your going to just add some kind of spam protection to your site thats what i would do.. it may stop blacklisted emails being able to register however ad bombing can not be changed anyways don't add 2 a day because what if a legit user clicks it twice your making a bit of revenue.

There are a handful of wordpress plugins that protect against clickbombing (of any banner ad), and I seem to remember reading about one that actually pulled the code so that it could be incorporated into any site using html. I guess, if you're comfortable, you could do the same with any of those plugins.
