The video by Matt Cutts explaining the update indicates that the new penguin 2 update blacklists sites that use paid or fake links and contributions.
Will this affect services like postloop? It seems tricky now to have your website listed on such websites.

I wonder if this'll count those huge back-link/directory submission packages you can purchase. If so, I'm screwed...

...not that I understand what Penguin is anyway. xD

Personally, I have wonder who the hell at Google think its really their problem what sites use paid posters or fake content or whatever. Just because people use these services doesn't mean their sites are bad or low quality, and it seems like they're getting way too obsessed with acting like they own the internet.

I personally care only about decent quality content. If that's paid or 'legit', I don't care. And if a site has some spammy content but also a significant amount of useful, more 'natural' stuff, then I feel it shouldn't really get penalised for that.

They always encourage webmasters to focus on quality and providing good content. I think that is always a given. Most people are concerned with back linking and all those traffic exchanging sites. The Google algorithm always changes, so it is kind of pointless to worry so much about it.

My answer to your question is probably not.

I agree completely about Google. the only thing I use of google anymore is Adsense on my rpg sites and history site and Adwords for my software.

I simply hate what they have become...

I also only care about decent quality content.
