Selecting to change an avatar using the top menu..

    Hey. My first error reported from AS3 is: When I tried to change my avatar using the top set of menus, I was not able to change my avatar (would not let me use a custom one). When I did it thru the userCP, it worked. :confused: Well its no big deal, but it may be tricky for other n00bs. :)

    I believe you still have to have 10 posts before you are allowed to use a custom avatar. Alien can confirm if this restriction is still in place.

    Ok just make sure the avatar you select is the right size. We prefer 64 x 64 but no larger than 75 x 75 and the file size no larger than 5120k.

    Please send Alien the error message you see when trying to select an avatar through pm if this information is not helping you.

    Er, that should be 512k, not 5120k.
    5120k is roughly 5MB. 512k is the recommended max file size for an avatar.

    Just a clarification...

    5120 bytes (5k) is the filesize currently supported...

    75x75 is preferred, but 64x64 is fine.. I don't think most smaller ones under 64x64 look decent in this design whatsoever but that's entirely up to you...

    Yeah slight mix-up on my part too, she asked me in the middle of sleeping and I guess I was still groggy from my dream with all those lesbians. :D

    i didn't have any trouble setting my avatar, aside from the fun i had photoshopping it so it would look good with this design

    on the subject of avatars... is it possible to get my old one back? (as much as i love the zorak one, i prefer the little eye thing with weird bird legs)

    Yes I'm trying to recover some of these custom avatars however it hasn't been easy. It was custom right, not one that everyone else could select and use from the online list at the time? I shall do my best.

    actually, it was one of the common ones that anyone could get. (me? make a custom avatar... lol... i admire those who can) if it's not possible, that's alright, zorak is cool :cool:
