    Spammers love to use email providers that are 100% registration free, and don't require any personal information to use. It gives them a very quick and easy way to register on your forum, and if you have email activation turned on, they can quickly activate their accounts using the quick email providers.

    What they do is, they go to the website and choose a quick name they want to use for their email and enter it, and then they can get the emails from the forums on which they register on, and very quickly activate their accounts on your forum, which helps them to spam forums very easily as it is a quick process.

    You can prevent spam like this by blocking those email providers from your boards, so people cant use these emails during registration on your forums, which is a great way to prevent unwanted spam. There are many ways to prevent spam, but this is just one out of the thousands of ways.

    Some examples of quick email providers would be: (There alot more, if you know them just ban them the same way as in this article)

    http://www.mailinator.com
    http://www.yopmail.com
    http://www.spam.la
    http://www.10minutemail.com

    In order to ban them you would go to the ACP in whatever forum software you are using, and find the place to block emails and you would enter the following emails:

    @mailinator.com
    @yopmail.com
    @spam.la
    @pjjkp.com
    @prtnx.com
    @bumpymail.com
    @centermail.com
    @centermail.net
    @discardmail.com
    @dodgeit.com
    @e4ward.com
    @emailias.com
    @fakeinformation.com
    @front14.org
    @ghosttexter.de
    @jetable.net
    @kasmail.com
    @link2mail.net
    @mailexpire.com
    @mailinator.com
    @mailmoat.com
    @messagebeamer.de
    @mytrashmail.com
    @nervmich.net
    @netmails.net
    @netzidiot.de
    @nurfuerspam.de
    @oneoffemail.com
    @pookmail.com
    @privacy.net
    @punkass.com
    @sneakemail.com
    @sofort-mail.de
    @sogetthis.com
    @spam.la
    @spambob.com
    @spambob.net
    @spambob.org
    @spamex.com
    @spamgourmet.com
    @spamhole.com
    @spaminator.de
    @spammotel.com
    @spamtrail.com
    @trash-mail.de
    @trashmail.net
    @wuzup.net

    If you cant ban the emails try adding a * to the beginning of each email, so for example it would be: *@examplemail.com so you would ban it like that, and it should work

    I know of a site that holds a database of known spammer emails if anyone wants it. It will require registration to access it though

    I will PM it to you, to keep it private and stop the spammers/bots from finding alternatives to you

    Just a note: It's not always best to reveal all the emails to ban, because then the spammers know which services have been banned and will now know to search for others to use instead

    Wow this is outstanding! Thank you so much for sharing and thanks everyone for contributing to the list. I will definitely use this if something like this becomes a problem or seems like it's gonna become a problem.

    The problem is, some of the majors (mail.com, inbox.com, aol.com) don't require anything other than a fake name to join. Millions of legitimate users use these mail domains. It might make for a lot of P.O.d guests were you to ban those.

    Thank you for this. I have blocked them on my website. This is my current list. I included the ones you posted. Some are probably no longer in service but I'm sure it still better to have them blocked.

    If you need to add an asterisk, just go here paste the whole thing, and put asterisk at the prefix. It's what I do since I need to add an asterisk too.

    You're welcome and thank you for fixing it. It was bugging me as well. I was actually trying to figure out how to put a spoiler tag or something.

    Anyway, I had a massive spam hoard back then so I'm doing everything now to avoid it. Thanks again.
