    Hello

I received this message two days ago :

Greetings Tapatalkers! This month we're announcing some important Tapatalk plug-in updates that bring a few long requested features that allow you to further customize your Tapatalk experience.
New Plug-In Updates Surrounding Registration Options and Controls

The latest Tapatalk plug-in is available right now and will incorporate a couple major changes that not only add features for your users but also give you more control around how users sign-in and register for accounts on your forums.

    Native In-app Registration

This feature allows a user to directly register an account in your community by entering username, email, and password. We have recently strengthened the spam protection by integrating it with StopForumSpam. While this feature is popular among most forums, some private forums may not want to use this feature at all. With the latest Tapatalk plug-in, the choice to use in-app registration or disable it completely, is up to you.
Social Sign On with Facebook, Google or Tapatalk Verified Account

Late last year we added Social Sign-On for forums via Facebook, Google+ (Android only), or a Tapatalk verified account. This feature allowed verified users to register or sign-in to your community seamlessly without re-entering a password and email address on their mobile devices. This feature integrates your community with social networks - a one click process to copy their public profile to your forum system. With our latest plug-in you can choose to disable this method of registration while maintaining sign-in access for existing authorized members to log on conveniently.
New User Registration - User group Assignment

Regardless which registration option you have chosen, you can now assign new users registered from Tapatalk to a specific primary user group, for greater ease of management.
Just Want to Redirect Prospective New Members Directly to Your Site to Register? You can now.

Now you can specify a web page to redirect Tapatalk users when they attempt to register an account. Simply add the URL in the Tapatalk AdminCP settings and registration will be handled by your existing infrastructure.
Clarification on Tapatalk ID, In-App Advertising, and More

We wanted to clarify that Tapatalk ID is not required for Tapatalk users to join or sign into your forums. It is purely optional and with the latest plug-in update you can customize the process even further.

Also if you do not wish to have advertising displayed in your forum, you may choose to disable it. These monetization features provide revenue sharing to you, our forum partners, but are in a testing phase at the moment. Only a small portion of users are seeing ads at the moment. For information on how to disable advertisements check out our support forum topic here.
Update your Tapatalk plug-in and you can start enjoying these features immediately. As always the latest plug-in can be found on our website here. Just select your forum system and you will find download links along with installation/upgrade instructions. If you have any questions about installing or upgrading please don't hesitate to contact us on our support forums. Sometimes, your question may already be posted along with its solution!

Have a great month everyone and as always, thank you for your support!

    The Tapatalk Team

    --------------------------------------

I'd like to know if you are using Tapatakl pulg-in on your forums. If so, what do you think about these new features ?

I have six BYO apps and use tapatalk on all my forums. The BYO apps are very good for getting traffic in the app stores from keyword searches.

With that said, the Tapatalk support leaves a lot to be desired and the quality control, at least for the xenForo plugin, is not very good lately.

I got to meet Winter, the tapatalk creator, in Austin, TX in October and can't say enough nice things about him as a person. I think he will get through these issues personally but I can see the frustration being valid with current users and board owners.

Not worth the hassle. Once I get push notifications working I will uninstall it.

I'm another one that frequently uses Tapatalk. Ironically it's most useful function comes into play when I'm at home, sitting at my PC. Push notification provides me with an instant alert on all my forums so I can provide 24/7 cover in the event of an emergency.

We have an app with them for a while now, the support is a farce tbh, they recently decided to change the font colour of the android app text to black from white like ios so now you have to either find a magical colour that works with both (ours doesnt) or rebuilt each app changing the sole colour choice each time.
They never discuss these things nor even mention them in the change log.
I really like the app but we are looking at making our own now, it may even be open source :) I have already made a chunk of the UI for WP8.

    Hello, I need help.
Tapatalk is successfully installed. My mybb forum is for bereaved parents (who lost a child) and is limited for registered users.
I configured "Native Registration only" (by Tapatalk) but when I call it via Tapatalk App (Android), it does not show me the native login/registration form.
On the highest level there are two announcements readable for guests, that is only shown in Tapatalk.
Can anyone here help to get it working, or know where I can get support (support pages of Tapatalk not availbale any more).
    Thanks for helping
    Bodo

    Hello,

as I figured out from what yiou wrote, you have problem with viewing permissions of your forum. Check users/group permissioms both for mybb and TT.......
