I was with Hawk Host and when my forum got really busy they CPU throttled the forum twice. I have sense moved to a 1GB VPS with Wiredtree, the forum is pretty zippy now. I am more then impressed with Wiredtree.

They throttle my forum several times per day. I've been doing just about everything to cut on CPU usage and they still throttle me. I will for sure be going out by November.

Another pissed off HawkHost customer right here.

Wow sorry to hear el candiano, I have a larger forum and I dont have problems like that. You should try contacting them and let them know that you plan to move from them, and if they can let you move over to another server to see if it helps.

Oh yes, the good ole "I'm off" reason, a good host will do anything in their power to try and keep you but still respect your decision if you do decide to leave. I've threatened to leave a few times with a few hosts, and it worked wonders

Anyway, my private forums are on HawkHost right now as I got a good deal with them for a reseller account to host the PH client area on, so I put the forums on there too :)

I have two forums on my host, though. Either way, neither of them are the size of, say, Forum Promotion, but even they have been hit, I know that.

Sometimes I wonder if ForumPromotion is really on shared hosting from HawkHost as they say, or if its some sort of promotional tactic.

DNS checks suggest that they are: http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=express&host=forumpromotion.net also: http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=express&host=74.86.182.175 seems they are on the same server as my reseller (I thought I recognised the IP range), so that means that they have a reseller account with them, and not a shared hosting account...

Where was your former forum Entertainment-Avenue hosted? It was on a free host at the time right?

Yea, the first move was due to complaints about not being able to access the site/SQL problems (common 000webhost problem I was not aware of until I started using it). The second move was when I moved over to help my friend after a fall out over how the owner was lying to the clients about the server, and the last move was when 2HU was due to be sold and I did'nt fancy sticking around so moved to my own

I have had that same problem with 000webhost so many times on my old forums from back in the day, its not even funny. 000webhost is no doubt the worst..
