    Here :)
When an upgrade is available for your software, do you immediately upgrade it or do you wait a couple of weeks?

I try to do it immediately because there may be security holes that are fixed in the new version. If they release a second version of the same update for whatever reason I will apply it.

I update security releases immediately. But if that's a new version of it like MyBB 1.6, i usually watchout for a week before updating due to possibility of bugs.

While I normally agree with you, the recent upgrade schedule at vb is unreal...they've had three releases in three weeks...and all contained security flaws being issued.

It depends on what the update has in it (ie bug fixes, new features, security patches, etc..)

I tend to do security patch ones as soon as I can, the others I test on my test forum first so I know how it is going to affect my live board , ie mods, styles, etc.. and I can then fix them quicker when I update the live board which minimises downtime for our members

First, i wait for about a week or so, not more than 10 days though, almost always, there's a minor update / bug fix within this period. I then upgrade my forum :)

The admin tests it on the backup site, then waits to see if there are any issues with mods etc then does the upgrade as soon as possible.

Not always as it may contain bugs, so sometimes its best to wait.

When this thread was made back in November of last year I would upgrade immediately but now I test it first on my local XenForo installation and if everything seems alright, I update my live forum.

I usually update ASAP for security updates. As with many others above, I tend to wait a while for those bringing new features to ensure all is okay before updating.
