The one thing every webmaster is feared of is hackers, there are many steps to take to protect your forum... what are some of the steps you take to make sure your forum doesn't get compromised?

There are many ways a hacker can hack your website, the main two reasons is that either your web server (Host) Is not secured well enough, or the forum script you are using contains security venerabilities.

So in that case you would use a forum software that is stable and contains no vulnerabilities, and make sure you web host secures their servers from malicious attacks.

Not much honestly seeing as its a free forum host and I wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to. Only thing I do is make secure passwords.

Well the good thing about free forum hosts is that they do everything for you, so you dont have to worry about your security as they take steps to make sure their forums stay protected.

Secure passwords are the best way you can protect yourself. Also, avoid using FTP (use SFTP instead).

Oh, and don't use phpBB obviously :D
Some hosts even ban it because of all the security issues.

Yeah, it's not much, but I don't update the site very often. It stays the same for a long time.
